Experts anticipate limited progress from the summit, with discussions focusing on trade, AI, and the Iran conflict. Trump is seen as entering the talks with weakened leverage, while Xi maintains significant economic power through control over rare earth materials.

Amid the summit, Trump imposed a media ban on CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, leading to legal challenges and disruptions in live coverage. Despite the restrictions, Trump praised the “friendliest press corps” during a photo session with Xi.
