He specifically targeted three justices he nominated—Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch—who supported the decision not to overturn existing mail-in ballot procedures.
In a lengthy social media message, Trump claimed the court was “bullied and cajoled” into making decisions that have set America back at least a hundred years. He argued that the justices had become “a shell of their original selves” and warned that their rulings were causing “shockingly bad” consequences for the country.
The Supreme Court’s recent decision allowed states to continue using long-standing procedures for distributing mail-in ballots, which could affect tens of millions of votes. The ruling also blocked the Trump administration from requiring standardized envelope designs or online voter registration portals, which would have given the U.S. Postal Service more control over election processes.

Two conservative justices, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas, dissented from the majority. However, Kavanaugh suggested he might support the administration if the issue returns to the court in the future.
