Simon Levy Convicted of Murdering Two Women and Raping a Third

POLICY WIRE — London, UK — Simon Levy has been convicted of the murders of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, and Sheryl Wilkins, 39, committed five months apart last year. Levy was found guilty of raping a third woman. The verdicts were delivered following a lengthy trial at the Central Criminal Court.

Levy, a 45-year-old resident of south London, showed no visible reaction as the jury returned guilty verdicts on all counts. The prosecution presented compelling evidence, including DNA matches and eyewitness testimonies, linking Levy to the crimes.

Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo was last seen alive on March 15, 2022, and her body was discovered in a secluded area two weeks later. Sheryl Wilkins went missing on August 10, 2022, and her remains were found in a different location a month after her disappearance. Both women had been subjected to violent assaults.

In a separate incident, Levy was also convicted of raping a woman in her home on June 5, 2022. The victim provided a detailed account of the attack, which was corroborated by forensic evidence.

Judge Margaret Williams adjourned the sentencing hearing, stating that a comprehensive pre-sentencing report would be required. “The gravity of these crimes demands a thorough evaluation before any sentencing decisions are made,” she remarked.

Levy will remain in custody until his next court appearance, scheduled for October 12, 2023. Legal experts anticipate a lengthy prison sentence given the severity of the offenses.
