POLICY WIRE — London, UK — Richard O’Sullivan, the celebrated actor who became a household name in 1970s television, has passed away at the age of 82.

The Royal Variety Charity confirmed the news, stating that the actor died while surrounded by his immediate family.

Mr. O’Sullivan passed away at Brinsworth House, a care facility operated by the Royal Variety Charity located in Twickenham, west London.

He is best remembered for his portrayal of Robin Tripp, a role he played in the popular ITV sitcoms Man About the House from 1973 to 1976 and its successor, Robin’s Nest, which aired from 1977 to 1981.

Beyond his comedic success, O’Sullivan also took on the lead role in the period drama Dick Turpin on ITV.
