Rep. Jason Crow Outlines Democratic Agenda and National Security Concerns on Face the Nation
Rep. Jason Crow discusses Democratic House strategies, affordability platforms, Iran threats, and Elon Musk's satellite control on Face the Nation.
POLICY WIRE — Denver, United States — Democratic Representative Jason Crow of Colorado addressed his party’s strategic roadmap and key national security challenges during an appearance on Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan on Oct. 25, 2026. Speaking from Denver, Crow discussed CBS polling indicating Democrats are positioned for a narrow majority of approximately 11 seats in the upcoming legislative term.
When questioned about voter motivations focusing largely on opposing Donald Trump and GOP policies, Crow emphasized that economic foundations remain the paramount concern for everyday citizens. As the battleground chair for House Democrats, he noted that his recruited candidates are actively campaigning on lowering the costs of bills, health care, housing, and groceries.
Acknowledging party missteps, Crow admitted that Democrats are running against both MAGA extremism and their own historical shortcomings, noting the loss of 90% of U.S. counties in the fall of 2024. He stressed the necessity of earning the trust of working-class and rural communities to rebuild the American middle class.
Addressing potential congressional investigations into corruption, Crow defended fellow Democrat Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan against conservative criticisms. He clarified that Slotkin’s remarks aimed to deter individuals from joining a corrupt administration for personal enrichment rather than threatening legal persecution.
Shifting to foreign policy, Crow criticized Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton’s recent memo regarding advanced lethal plotting by Iran against U.S. personnel. He targeted Pentagon leadership under Pete Hegseth, stating that removing him is a primary objective if Democrats reclaim the House majority to ensure service members receive competent protection.
Crow further implicated Vladimir Putin and Russia as primary supporters of Iran, condemning recent diplomatic actions and sanctions relief that he argued financially bolster the Russian war machine. He also expressed alarm over unilateral tech control following the full restoration of SpaceX satellite services in Ukraine, joining colleagues Adam Smith and Jim Himes in demanding transparency from President Trump regarding private citizen influence over national security.
