Pork Buyers May Qualify for Class Action Settlement Payments

POLICY WIRE — City, Country — A class action lawsuit involving major pork producers has reached a $117 million settlement, offering potential refunds to consumers who purchased eligible pork products during a specific time frame.
The case centers on allegations that eight leading companies, including Tyson and JBS, violated antitrust laws by manipulating prices. While the firms have denied any wrongdoing, they have agreed to pay the full amount to resolve the claims, with Tyson contributing the largest portion at $85 million.

To qualify for a share of the funds, buyers must have purchased affected pork products in one of 24 states between June 28, 2014, and June 30, 2018. Consumers can check eligibility using an online tool. Claims must be submitted by October 29, 2026, and payments will follow after a final court hearing in December.
