Police Identify Victim in Fatal Times Square Stabbing Spree
Authorities identify the victim of a deadly Times Square stabbing incident as a 25-year-old man remains in custody on suspicion of murder.
POLICY WIRE — New York, USA — Law enforcement officials have officially identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred in Times Square late Monday afternoon.
Erin Piacenti was confirmed as one of two individuals attacked by a woman brandishing two large knives. The assailant was subsequently shot and killed by responding officers.
The violent encounter, which was captured in graphic footage shared across social media platforms, resulted in the death of a 32-year-old woman. A second victim remains hospitalized following the incident.
In connection with the investigation, authorities have taken a 25-year-old man into custody on suspicion of murder. Additionally, two other individuals have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
