Pictet’s Global Fund Surges to $5.1 Billion Amid Chinese Investor Surge
Chinese investors fuel Pictet's $5B multi-asset fund growth via MRF, AI and US tech exposure.
POLICY WIRE — Hong Kong, China — A global multi-asset fund managed by Swiss financial services firm Pictet has seen its assets grow to over $5 billion this year, driven largely by increased investment from mainland Chinese retail investors.
The Pictet Strategic Income Fund, based in Hong Kong, saw its assets under management rise from $1.6 billion at the start of the year to $5.1 billion, according to the company. This surge coincides with a shift in investor behavior as Chinese markets experience lower deposit yields and growing interest in artificial intelligence and U.S. technology stocks.

About 60% of the fund’s assets come from mainland China through the Mutual Recognition of Funds (MRF) program, which allows qualified Hong Kong-based funds to be sold on the mainland. The fund ranked first among 34 tracked by Morningstar for net inflows via the MRF channel in the first half of the year, drawing in HK$16.3 billion ($2.08 billion). Pictet plans to expand its offerings by applying for two additional MRF funds, signaling confidence in the program’s potential as a mainstream investment channel.
