POLICY WIRE — Harrisburg, Pennsylvania — Authorities have announced the arrest and charging of 14 individuals in connection with a cocaine trafficking ring that involved members of two fraternities and university students.
The operation, which spanned several months, was uncovered following an extensive investigation by local law enforcement agencies. The suspects are alleged to have distributed significant quantities of cocaine within the university community and beyond.
“This case highlights the dangers of drug trafficking within our communities, particularly on college campuses,” said a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. “We are committed to dismantling these networks and bringing those responsible to justice.”
Among those charged are several fraternity members and students, whose identities have not been disclosed to protect the ongoing investigation. The charges range from possession with intent to distribute to conspiracy to traffic cocaine.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out additional arrests. The university administration has expressed its cooperation with law enforcement and emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards illegal drug activities.
