The sun rises over Gaza, but for too many families, it brings no warmth or hope. Since the attacks on October 7, 2023, more than 66,000 lives have been lost in this tiny strip of land. Israeli bombs have turned homes into rubble, schools into graves, and hospitals into hiding spots. This is not war; it is a nightmare that steals breath from the world. Pakistan watches this pain with a heavy heart and cannot sit quietly while atrocities unfold. Israel must stop these cruel acts, the bombings, the blockades that cut off food and water, and the daily terror on innocent people. Pakistan wants peace, but true peace means justice for Palestinians. It means ending the occupation, lifting the siege, and letting Gaza’s people live free.
For years, Pakistan has worked hand in hand with Arab brothers and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to heal Gaza’s wounds. Back in October 2023, when the bombs first fell hard, the OIC held an emergency meeting. Their final words rang clear, stating “Calls for the immediate cessation of the barbaric aggression of the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people and the immediate lifting of the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.” They condemned the killings, the destruction, and the starvation tactics. This unity grew stronger. In March 2025, at another OIC gathering in Jeddah, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister said that the Muslim world must reject any plan to push Palestinians from their homes, calling it “ethnic cleansing and a war crime under international law.” He sought a ceasefire, full access to aid, and joint rebuilding of Gaza. By August 2025, in Istanbul, Pakistan unveiled a seven-point plan at the OIC summit. It called for no more Israeli occupation of Gaza, full reconstruction led by Arabs and Muslims, and a two-state solution with East Jerusalem as Palestine’s capital
This is Pakistan’s pattern, standing firm with Arab states, like Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, through OIC’s shared voice. Pakistan has sent aid trucks full of food, medicine, and tents. They speak at the UN, pushing resolutions for justice. Pakistan tables OIC plans at global tables, making sure Gaza’s cry is heard. Their alignment is so simple that what hurts one Muslim hurts all.
Pakistan took a two-sided approach to deter such aggression. First, they signed the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) with Saudi Arabia on September 17, 2025. This pact states that any attack on one is considered an attack on both. With Pakistan’s strength and Saudi Arabia’s reach, it sends a clear message to all aggressors. This deal boosts joint defense, shares training, and deters destruction in the Middle East.
Second, in full alignment with Arab countries, Pakistan backed Trump’s 20-point peace plan to stop the atrocities right away. Unveiled on September 29, 2025, the plan calls for an immediate end to fighting, the release of hostages within 72 hours, a full flow of aid, and the establishment of a “Board of Peace” to rebuild Gaza. It bans Hamas from power but offers amnesty for those who choose peace and a safe exit for others. Pakistan joined Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, and Indonesia in a joint statement, welcoming the plan and vowing to work with the US for a deal that brings a ceasefire, no more killings, full Israeli pullout, and a path to a Palestinian state. This support pushes for peace now, saving lives before it’s too late.
Why this stand? Because Gaza’s people deserve more than promises, they need action, and they need action now. Pakistan’s choice shows the power of Muslim unity. By locking arms with Arab states, they have turned grief into strength. Gaza’s dawn can come, bright and free. Pakistan stands ready, shoulder to shoulder with Gaza, to light the way. Let peace rise from the ashes, for 66,000 souls and millions more waiting.
