Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Concert: Doctors Warned Against Performing, But He Went On Stage Anyway
Doctors advised Ozzy Osbourne not to perform before his final show. His wife Sharon recalls the emotional decision.
POLICY WIRE — Birmingham, United Kingdom — Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert, a farewell performance with Black Sabbath at Birmingham’s Villa Park, was preceded by dire medical warnings that he should not take the stage, according to his wife Sharon Osbourne.
The event, titled Back to the Beginning, took place on July 5, 2025, and was later released as a film titled *Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning*, set for theatrical release on October 28. Osbourne passed away just weeks later on July 22 due to a heart attack and other health complications.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Sharon Osbourne described how her husband was hospitalized in the U.S. before the concert and then moved back to England, where a new team of doctors refused to rely on previous medical assessments. A group of specialists, including cardiologists, neurologists, and pulmonologists, met with Osbourne at his home and advised against the performance, warning it could be fatal. Despite this, Osbourne insisted on going ahead, stating, “It’s what I want.”
