The teenager disappeared on December 2, 2025, and was eventually discovered on August 21 after an agent from the U.S. Marshal’s Office traced her to an address in Springfield. The individual found at the location, Jobe Binkley, a 48-year-old property owner, has been charged with interference with custody and has entered a not guilty plea.

Binkley reportedly confirmed the girl was present during a recent encounter with officers, though prior attempts to access the property were denied. He had previously been employed as a teacher in the Springfield City School District but was removed from his position in November 2024 due to concerns over his interactions with students. He was later fired in February 2025 for violating technology policies, though it remains unclear if he ever taught the missing girl.
