The 82-year-old actor described the incident as “wildly embarrassing” in the book, which also delves into his struggles with substance abuse during the early 1990s. At the time, Douglas was producing the 1990 film Flatliners, which starred Roberts alongside Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, and Oliver Platt.

Douglas recounted attending a Golden Globes party where he encountered Roberts, who had come with her then-boyfriend Sutherland. He had brought his son, Cameron, around 13 years old at the time, and claimed that Roberts placed her arm around him. In a drunken state, he confronted her, demanding she remove her hands from his son and suggesting she stick the Golden Globe where the sun don’t shine.
