Man Arrested for Dressing as ICE Agent to Intimidate Voters at Florida Polling Station
Florida man arrested for impersonating ICE agent and intimidating voters during Brazilian election. Charges include voter intimidation and conspiracy.
POLICY WIRE — Miami, United States — A man was taken into custody after allegedly posing as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent and creating a tense atmosphere at a polling site in Miami.
According to an arrest report, Danilo Alves Silva, 46, wore an ICE-style jacket, hat, tactical boots, sunglasses, and a face mask while moving around the polling area at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus. The event was not part of a U.S. election but rather a voting location for Brazilian nationals participating in their country’s presidential race.

Authorities stated that individuals at the site appeared frightened, believing an ICE agent was interfering with their voting process. Silva later admitted he was not an actual ICE officer and described his attire as a “prop costume” purchased on Amazon. He claimed he had no intention of breaking any laws, though he was charged with multiple offenses, including voter intimidation and conspiracy to commit bribery.
