Laura Loomer Pauses Podcast After Social Media Outburst Following Midterm Defeat
Far-right activist Laura Loomer announces a hiatus from LoomerUnleashed following a frantic social media spree after Republican midterm election losses.
POLICY WIRE — Florida, USA — Laura Loomer, a prominent activist and close associate of President Donald Trump, has announced a temporary break from her podcast program. The decision follows an intense period of social media activity after significant Republican losses in the recent midterm elections.
Two days after Democrats regained control of both the House and Senate, the 33-year-old Florida resident informed her 1.9 million followers on X that she was feeling exhausted. She claimed she had been “chronically” online and was operating on empty for an extended period.
Loomer stated on Thursday that her family, personal life, and upcoming wedding had been neglected in favor of her work. As a result, she confirmed she is taking a time off from her livestreamed show, LoomerUnleashed, which typically airs twice a week.
She indicated that she would return to the program once the timing was appropriate.
Loomer, who advocates for war with Iran and identifies herself as a pro-white nationalist and proud Islamophobe, maintains a high-level connection with Trump. Her history includes meetings with him at the Oval Office and Mar-a-Lago, as well as traveling on Air Force One.
The hiatus follows a high-frequency series of digital posts. An analysis by Newsweek revealed she shared 119 posts within a 28-hour window following the election results, averaging roughly one post every 14 minutes. Her messages presented a dire outlook for the nation, labeling the United States a failed state and asserting that Islam had gained dominance.
On Wednesday, she wrote that the American Dream had ended and criticized the country for being filled with non-white foreigners who do not speak English, accompanied by an image of a woman in a headscarf. That same day, she also demanded the incarceration of Abdul El-Sayed, the newly elected senator from Michigan.
In various other communications, she voiced support for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, characterized Tucker Carlson as a traitor, and encouraged Trump to act with more vengeance during the next two years of his term.
Following the results on Tuesday, Loomer questioned the presence of divine oversight and predicted that the United States would face a nuclear holocaust. She urged her audience to prioritize survival preparations, suggesting they would be desperately needed.
Her comments prompted concern from several observers, who questioned her mental well-being. Former Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized Loomer’s influence and her proximity to Trump and senior White House staff.
Greene posted on X that Loomer appeared mentally unwell and potentially experiencing a state of psychosis. She expressed frustration that high-level administrators and the President frequently consult with her, despite Trump labeling her a great Republican strategist.
Greene concluded by claiming Loomer’s advice contributed to the electoral defeat and could result in Trump facing imprisonment.
