Lady Gaga confirms first child with fiancé Michael Polansky. Exclusive details on their private life and public journey.
POLICY WIRE — New York, United States — Lady Gaga has officially welcomed her first child with her fiancé, Michael Polansky, according to recent reports.
The couple, who began their relationship in 2019 and became engaged in March 2024, have maintained a low public profile in recent months. New photographs from the U.S. publication Page Six show the pair walking in California with the singer, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, carrying an infant.
Gaga, who turned 40 this year, had not been seen in public since August, when she took a selfie with a fan. She concluded her 86-city Mayhem Ball tour in April. The pop star has previously spoken about her longing to become a mother, expressing in a March 2024 interview with the New York Times that she hopes to give her children the freedom to define their own paths.
On The Stephen Colbert Show in October 2025, she shared, I would like to do many things. All of these things are open. But, what I really want, is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.

Gaga met entrepreneur Michael Polansky, 42, at a friend’s birthday party in late 2019. The couple officially announced their relationship on Instagram in February 2020 after being spotted together at the Super Bowl. Engagement rumors emerged in April 2024 when she was seen wearing a large diamond ring, and she later confirmed Polansky proposed during a video filmed at the Paris Olympics.
In the clip, Gaga introduced her partner as “my fiancé” while meeting French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal. She later described Polansky as “so smart and so kind” in an interview with Vogue, adding that their lives are very different but that they are together because they are right for each other. I think what I want my fans to know is that I’m just, like, so happy. I’m healthy, she said.
The Independent has reached out to Lady Gaga’s representative for further comment.
