Kanye West Appeals $140K Handyman Award in Malibu Renovation Case
Kanye West seeks to overturn a $140,000 award to a handyman, Tony Saxon, in a dispute over unpaid wages for Malibu mansion renovations.
POLICY WIRE — City, Country — Kanye West has filed an appeal against a court-ordered payment of $140,000 to Tony Saxon, a handyman who sued the rapper for unpaid wages related to renovations at West’s Malibu mansion.
Saxon’s lawsuit, filed in 2021, alleged that he and West had an agreement for Saxon to be paid $20,000 per week for his work. However, Saxon claims he received only one payment.
The initial court ruling mandated West to pay Saxon the full amount claimed, along with additional costs. West’s appeal seeks to overturn this decision.
