Israeli Opposition Bloc Unifies Strategy to Topple Netanyahu in Bold Election Push
Gadi Eisenkot leads a unified Israeli opposition bloc as they strategize a coalition to replace Benjamin Netanyahu in the upcoming national election.
POLICY WIRE — Herzliya, Israel — Members of Israel’s opposition are intensifying efforts to assemble a coalition capable of removing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from office.
In a pivotal meeting on Tuesday, November 3, five prominent figures from the self-described Zionist opposition gathered in Herzliya for the first time since the elections to coordinate their path to power.
The group concluded their session by signing a non-aggression pact, ensuring a unified front as they challenge the incumbent leader in the election scheduled for October 27.
The political landscape remains highly competitive, as any government must secure a majority of 61 seats out of the 120 available in parliament.
Current data shows a narrow divide, with Netanyahu’s coalition holding 53 seats while the opposition bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot commands 48 seats.
Political analysts suggest that for the opposition to succeed, they may need to adopt a similar willingness to pivot on commitments when they hinder broader political goals.

As internal bloc tensions mount, President Herzog faces a critical decision this Sunday, when he will announce the candidate tasked with forming a new government.
