In recent years, especially after the devastating Pahalgam incident on April 22, 2025, India-Pakistan relations have hit one of their lowest points. Outrage and grave concerns about the security situation in the area have been aroused by this catastrophe, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, the most of whom were tourists. India has persisted in accusing Islamabad of aiding the attackers, even though Pakistan has vehemently denied any role in the incident. But as Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Pakistan’s military spokesperson, noted, India has not offered any hard proof to back up its assertions, thus the accusations are unfounded. Rather, India’s active participation in cross-border terrorism within Pakistan has been amply demonstrated by Pakistan.
One of the bloodiest attacks on civilians in the area in more than 20 years was the Pahalgam attack, which took place in the disputed area of Indian-occupied Kashmir. A militant organization known as Kashmir Resistance first claimed credit, however subsequent statements from the group categorically denied any involvement. This has only strengthened suspicions that India may have planned or controlled the strike in an attempt to provide an excuse for the heightened hostilities with Pakistan. Without any supporting proof, the charges made against Pakistan are part of a larger trend in which India has attempted to damage Pakistan’s reputation abroad by making baseless claims of terrorism.
Without any solid evidence, India’s response to the attack is a part of a bigger plan to deflect criticism away from its own state-sponsored terrorism operations. Lt Gen Chaudhry underlined that India has not yet offered any proof connecting Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack in the seven days that followed the tragedy. Considering the grave charges India has made against its neighbor, this silence is especially startling. Rather, Pakistan has discovered indisputable proof of India’s complicity in domestic terrorism.
The arrest of a terrorist with Indian training on April 25, 2025, close to Jhelum, Pakistan, was one of the main pieces of evidence Pakistan offered. Mobile phones, explosives, and a substantial quantity of cash were discovered in the custody of the terrorist, who was a citizen of Pakistan. When additional inquiry showed that the person was linked to Subedar Sukvinder, an Indian official who had planned the terrorist’s mission, more damning evidence emerged. Indian operatives had provided the terrorist with an improvised explosive device (IED) to use in the planned attack. There are other examples, like this one, that demonstrate India’s direct role in inciting terrorism in Pakistan.
Further evidence of Indian army officials’ involvement in planning these assaults came from forensic examination of the materials taken from the terrorist’s residence. Evidence connected the planning and execution of terrorism in Pakistan to a number of senior Indian officers, including Subedar Sukvinder and Major Sandeep Verma. An audio recording featuring Major Sandeep Verma talking about the financing and coordination of terrorist strikes throughout the region, from Balochistan to Lahore, was one particularly startling discovery. Lt Gen Chaudhry has called this audio clip “irrefutable evidence,” revealing the extent of India’s role in state-sponsored terrorism.
It has also been discovered that the Indian military used drones to help move explosives across the border. IEDs were delivered to terrorist cells operating within Pakistan by these drones, which have been captured in many operations. The terrorist who was apprehended close to Jhelum had participated in at least four different terrorist attacks, all of which used drones to drop bombs. These disclosures highlight the increasing danger that India’s military poses in causing instability in the area.
Lt Gen Chaudhry further emphasized that India’s clandestine activities are not limited to single cases. Instead, they are a component of a broader pattern of cross-border terrorism that aims to undermine Pakistan. India actively supports terrorist organizations that operate in Balochistan, an area that has historically been a hub for militant activity, according to intelligence acquired by Pakistan’s security agencies. It is thought that India’s activities are directly responsible for the current spike in terrorist activity, which included the murder of 71 terrorists in North Waziristan. Tensions have been heightened by Pakistan’s reports of many Indian drones trying to enter its airspace near the Line of Control.
These initiatives’ timing begs more doubts about India’s intentions. The recent spike in violence and instability may be an attempt by the Indian government to incite nationalism and divert attention from its internal problems as elections are approaching. Given this, the Pahalgam incident and the charges that followed against Pakistan might be a part of a bigger plan to divert attention from India’s own involvement in regional terrorism.
Even though Pakistan has repeatedly demanded an impartial inquiry into the Pahalgam attack, India’s continuous hostility and failure to produce proof suggest a conscious attempt to damage Pakistan’s diplomatic reputation. India violates international conventions and destabilizes the area by committing state-sponsored terrorism and leveling unfounded accusations against Pakistan. However, despite India’s provocative acts, Pakistan has always demonstrated its commitment to peace and stability.
In conclusion, Pakistan’s proof serves as a clear reminder of India’s increasing role in international terrorism. The disclosures of India’s military and intelligence services aiding terrorist organizations in Pakistan jeopardize the precarious peace in South Asia in addition to harming India’s reputation abroad. The international community must hold India responsible for its actions and make sure that regional stability is not compromised for political advantage as tensions continue to rise. India now has the responsibility to stop its disruptive actions in the area and to offer verifiable proof for its claims. Despite the ongoing provocations from its neighbor, Pakistan is nevertheless dedicated to preserving peace within its borders and defending its sovereignty till that time.
