POLICY WIRE — London, UK — Adina Mihai and Madalin Dumitru have been convicted for their roles in a series of crimes where they drugged and robbed individuals seeking escort services. The criminal activities resulted in the deaths of two victims.

Mihai, posing as a sex worker, and Dumitru targeted men looking for escort services. They spiked the victims’ drinks, rendering them unconscious, and stole their belongings. The scheme unraveled when two men died from the effects of the drugs.

The court heard detailed evidence of the duo’s modus operandi, including surveillance footage and testimonies from surviving victims. Medical examiners confirmed that the deaths were directly linked to the substances administered by Mihai and Dumitru.

Both defendants were found guilty on multiple counts, including manslaughter, robbery, and administering a substance with intent to commit an indictable offense. Sentencing dates are yet to be announced.
