Carter Eslick, 20, also received three years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to a felony hazing charge in connection with the January 31 death of Colin Daniel Martinez. The incident occurred at an off-campus house where four Delta Tau Delta pledges shared two bottles of vodka as part of a ritual intended to induce vomiting. Despite efforts by witnesses to monitor Martinez’s condition, he succumbed to alcohol poisoning. Eslick, who served as the fraternity’s pledge master, apologized to Martinez’s family and accepted full responsibility for his role in the event.
