Enzo Maresca Claims Manchester City Unity Strengthened Following Financial Charges Verdict
Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca insists the club remains united and unfazed after being found guilty of 114 Premier League financial rule breaches.
POLICY WIRE — Manchester, United Kingdom — Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca stated on Friday that the club’s players and supporters have forged a stronger bond in the wake of a recent independent commission verdict.
The commission determined that the club breached Premier League financial regulations in 114 out of 115 charges brought against them. Despite the gravity of the findings, Maresca maintains that he feels no additional pressure and continues to place his full trust in the organization.
Maresca firmly rejected the notion that the club’s previous title victories are compromised, stating they are “absolutely not” tainted. He emphasized that the squad remains focused on their footballing duties and is largely unfazed by the external noise surrounding the case.
The club is currently in the process of appealing the panel’s decision, which covers a nine-year period of alleged financial misconduct involving more than £900m in illicit funding. While awaiting potential sanctions, Maresca insists the team remains calm and committed to their objectives.
