Eagles Rule Out Jalen Hurts for Sunday’s Game Against Carolina Due to Blood Clot
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is sidelined for Sunday's game against the Panthers after medical staff discovered a superficial blood clot.
POLICY WIRE — Philadelphia, USA — Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been officially ruled out for this Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The decision follows the discovery of a superficial blood clot in his calf, an injury sustained during the team’s October 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Hurts, who had been participating in practice sessions throughout the week, received the diagnosis after a follow-up ultrasound on Wednesday revealed movement in the clot. The team’s medical staff is currently determining the appropriate treatment plan, and there is no established timeline for the star quarterback’s return to the field.
With Hurts sidelined, the Eagles are turning to 26-year-old backup Tanner McKee to lead the offense. McKee, a sixth-round draft pick in 2023, has previously started two games for Philadelphia and expressed readiness to step into the starting role as the team looks to break a three-game losing streak.
