Colorado Rockies Part Ways With Pitching Coach Alon Leichman After One Season
The Colorado Rockies have dismissed pitching coach Alon Leichman following a single season. Explore the latest team updates and coaching staff changes.
POLICY WIRE — Denver, USA — The Colorado Rockies have officially moved on from pitching coach Alon Leichman, ending his tenure with the organization after just one season.
While the club has yet to issue a formal announcement regarding the staff change, the decision was confirmed by a Major League source on Thursday. The move was initially reported by Ken Rosenthal and Keith Law of The Athletic.
Leichman, 37, was brought on board by the organization last December to serve on manager Warren Schaeffer’s coaching staff. His departure follows a challenging year for the team’s pitching staff, which surrendered a league-worst 944 runs throughout the most recent campaign.
