Clocks Fall Back: Daylight Saving Time Ends This Sunday for 2026
Prepare for the clock shift as daylight saving time ends this Sunday. Learn exactly when to set your clocks back and gain an hour of sleep.
POLICY WIRE — United States — Millions of residents across the country are set to gain an extra hour of sleep this weekend as the 2026 daylight saving time season concludes.
The annual transition, widely referred to as ‘falling back,’ is scheduled to take place in the early hours of Sunday.
Daylight saving time, which officially began on March 8, will reach its end at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.
At that specific moment, clocks will be adjusted backward from 1:59 a.m. to 1 a.m.
While federal law regarding the practice remains in place for now, the vast majority of the population should prepare for the standard time shift.
The change marks the end of the period of extended evening daylight, moving the country back into standard time observations.
