Zoo officials expressed excitement about the arrival, with president Raymond B. King stating in April that the pandas would bring joy to the community. China’s Foreign Ministry emphasized that the partnership aims to enhance panda health, support global biodiversity, and strengthen U.S.-China relations. This follows a previous agreement that saw pandas Lun Lun and Yang Yang, who had seven cubs, return to China in 2024.
