Celebrity Traitors Fans Speculate Maya Jama Exposed Herself During Latest Challenge
Viewers of The Celebrity Traitors believe Maya Jama may have revealed her identity as a Traitor after a suspicious performance in a recent task.
POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — Maya Jama’s tenure on The Celebrity Traitors appears to be in jeopardy after audience members suggested her behavior during a recent mission may have unmasked her as a Traitor.
The complex challenge required Jama, alongside fellow Traitors James Acaster and King Kenny, to eliminate a Faithful contestant by boring them to death. The group had to deploy a fake sleeping powder in a room and wait for a Faithful to enter, with the goal of triggering a yawn. Once a target yawned, the Traitor was required to ask, “Am I boring you?” followed by their own name to complete the elimination.
Ross Kemp and Jerry Hall were the targets who entered the room, forcing Jama and Acaster to improvise. Jama attempted to induce a yawn by repeatedly yawning herself, hoping the guests would mimic the action.
Many viewers took to social media to criticize the strategy, labeling Jama’s performance as overly theatrical. One user on X noted that the excessive yawning was suspicious and likely to draw unwanted attention from those present in the room.
Other fans pointed out that Ross Kemp’s naturally suspicious nature makes him a difficult target for such a ruse. Social media commentary suggested that Kemp likely noticed the odd behavior, with some viewers predicting that Jama could face banishment as a result of the interaction.
The outcome of this mission remains unresolved until the next episode airs on Thursday. The pressure is mounting for the Traitors following the recent banishment of Hannah Fry, which led to the recruitment of King Kenny.
The series, which features a cast including Miranda Hart, Michael Sheen, and James Blunt, has become a major hit for BBC One. However, the broadcaster has reportedly issued warnings to participants regarding the unauthorized sharing of plot details with family and friends.
Recent episodes also saw the unsuccessful attempt to banish Faithful contestant Joe Lycett, who had previously expressed a desire to join the Traitors. Following her exit, Hannah Fry suggested that the behavior of Jama and Acaster had become increasingly noticeable to those observing the game closely.
The Celebrity Traitors is scheduled to return next Thursday at 8pm on BBC One.
