Buckingham Palace Denies Claims from Earl Spencer’s New Book on Princess Diana
Buckingham Palace refutes claims in Earl Spencer's book about King Charles' alleged comments after Princess Diana's death. Details inside.
POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — Buckingham Palace has denied allegations made in a new memoir by Prince William’s uncle, Earl Charles Spencer, which claims that King Charles expressed a dismissive attitude toward Princess Diana shortly after her passing.
The book, titled *Swan Song: Diana, My Sister*, is set to reveal previously undisclosed details about the late princess’s marriage and the circumstances surrounding her death. It includes a passage where the Earl reportedly claims that then-Prince Charles said, we’ll forget Diana soon enough following her tragic accident in 1997.
A spokesperson for the royal household stated that the assertions are false, emphasizing that the palace rarely comments on such matters. The book, described as a “historic” account, has already sparked significant public interest and debate over the royal family’s private history.
