Buc-ee’s Expands with 6 New Stores in 2027 — Full List of Locations Revealed

POLICY WIRE — City, Country — Buc-ee’s, the iconic gas station and rest stop chain known for its massive size and wide range of roadside food, has revealed six new store openings planned for 2027, as part of an ongoing nationwide expansion strategy.

The chain, which features a beaver mascot, has already opened four locations this year, including its first in Ohio, a new site in Arizona marking its westernmost location, and additional stores in Arkansas and Texas. The company is now set to expand further, with six more stores scheduled to open next year.

The upcoming 2027 locations include Forsyth, Georgia; Kansas City, Kansas; Gallaway, Tennessee; Boerne, Texas; Ruston, Louisiana; and Mebane, North Carolina. Beyond these, the company has long-term plans stretching into the next decade, with additional sites expected in states like Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Virginia, and Utah.

Some projects have faced delays or local opposition. A planned Fort Pierce location in Florida will now open in 2028 instead of 2027, while a proposed store in Tallahassee still needs county approval. In Georgia, construction has begun on the fourth Buc-ee’s location in Forsyth, set to open next year.

In the Midwest, Greenwood, Indiana, could become the state’s first Buc-ee’s if local leaders approve the plan. Similarly, Whitestown, Indiana, is under consideration. Kansas City, Kansas, will see the state’s first Buc-ee’s, which is already hiring staff. Meanwhile, a new location in Oak Grove, Kentucky, is expected to open in 2029.

Buc-ee’s CEO Arch “Beaver” Aplin III has publicly stated a preference for expanding in “conservative, business-friendly” states. He noted that such regions tend to better appreciate the company’s values and approach. Only a third of states with a Buc-ee’s have Democratic governors, reflecting the chain’s geographic focus.
