POLICY WIRE — Shanghai, China — A British motorsport competitor has credited a fellow racer with saving his life after he was trapped in a burning vehicle during a high-speed crash at a race in Shanghai.

Ollie Millroy, a 23-year-old British driver, said he is grateful to Dutch competitor Loek Hartog for pulling him from the flaming wreckage of his car following an accident at the China GT Championship on Saturday.

Footage captured on Hartog’s on-board camera shows the Dutch driver quickly rushing to Millroy’s burning vehicle, using a fire extinguisher to reduce the flames before managing to pull the injured driver out of the danger zone.
