Berlin, Paris and London Named Hosts for 2027 Swimming World Cup with LA28 Qualification Spots
World Aquatics selects Berlin, Paris and London to host the 2027 Swimming World Cup, offering direct qualification paths for the LA28 Olympic Games.
POLICY WIRE — Lausanne, Switzerland — World Aquatics has officially selected Berlin, Paris, and London to serve as the host cities for the 2027 Swimming World Cup, establishing a three-stop circuit that will directly feed into the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The compact international series kicks off in Berlin from October 15-17, shifts to Paris for competitions from October 22-24, and concludes in the British capital from October 29-31. Aquatics GB secured the agreement to bring the final leg back to Great Britain at the historic London Aquatics Centre inside Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Competitors throughout the tour will have opportunities to secure direct Olympic qualification in a series of newly introduced 50-meter events for the upcoming Olympic programme. Berlin will determine the qualifiers for the men’s 50m backstroke and women’s 50m butterfly.
Action in Paris will decide the winners of the men’s 50m butterfly and women’s 50m breaststroke qualifying spots. The final berths will then be awarded in London, where the men’s 50m breaststroke and women’s 50m backstroke events round out the slate.
World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam noted that each chosen metropolis carries a distinguished sporting pedigree and deep Olympic heritage, making them ideal settings to determine the roster for the newly added 50m disciplines.
