Laguna Burger Arrives
Laguna Burger, renowned for its distinctive green chile cheeseburgers, originated as a humble roadside grill in the community of Laguna. The brand has built a strong reputation for delivering authentic New Mexican flavors.
Maxine Velasquez, President and CEO of Laguna Development Corporation, expressed immense pride in introducing the Laguna Burger experience to the Sunport. Velasquez emphasized the company’s commitment to sharing the true essence of New Mexico, ensuring that every traveler experiences the region’s unmistakable tastes upon arrival.

Frank’s Famous Chicken & Waffles Joins the Lineup
For more than a decade, Frank’s Famous Chicken & Waffles has been a culinary cornerstone in Albuquerque. Its story began with founder Frank Willis, who moved from Los Angeles in the early 1990s to play for the New Mexico Lobos.
Willis, alongside his sister Tiffany, started the enterprise from her apartment. The family-owned business expanded to a larger facility in 2019 and has garnered repeated recognition, including being named “Best in the City” by Albuquerque The Magazine consecutively from 2013 through 2025.
“Albuquerque embraced us from the start,” Willis remarked. “Opening at the Sunport is our way of giving that love back, by sharing the food and culture that define who we are.”
The management of these new concessions at the Albuquerque International Sunport will be overseen by Tailwind Concessions, ensuring seamless operation for both eateries.
