The Ukrainian navy stated that Russian forces targeted the vessel with three cruise missiles, resulting in the deaths of 10 out of the 17 crew members onboard. The incident occurred as the ship was leaving Ukrainian waters.
“Russian forces hit the cargo ship with three cruise missiles, leading to the tragic loss of 10 crew members,” a Ukrainian navy spokesperson said.
The nationalities of the other crew members who were killed haven’t been disclosed. The condition of the surviving crew is currently unknown.
