Marka-e-Haq: Pakistan’s Glorious Victory for Truth and Sovereignty

Pakistan is the land of brave hearts and true faith. The whole country had to pass through a hard time test in 2025 and became victorious. This test is known as Marka-e-Haq, the Battle of Truth. It did not consist of just one or two days but it was more than that. It was an exercise of struggle for justice, honor, and security of the nation. From 22nd April to 10th May 2025, Pakistan emerged as one nation, wherein both the civilians and the military forces exhibited remarkable courage, unmatched patriotism, and unparalleled dedication to the nation’s cause. Today, we commemorate this day for the courage that was displayed by our soldiers in defense of their country under the flag of our army, air force, and navy.

The Pahalgam Incident

It all began from 22nd April 2025 in Pahalgam, IIOJK (Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir). According to Indian media terrorist attack took place there resulting in deaths of 26 innocent tourists. The first response came from the government of India and accused Pakistan of terrorism without proper evidence or investigation. Pakistan denied the allegations and offered to go under an international investigation into the matter and called the attack a possible “false flag” operation by India to create an excuse for aggression. Pakistan has always stood against terrorism, and its security forces have sacrificed thousands of lives in the war on terror. Yet India chose to ignore facts and point fingers at Pakistan. This was the beginning of a planned crisis.

India’s Unprovoked Aggression

Instead of talking or waiting for proof, India launched a sudden and cowardly attack. On the night of 6-7 May 2025, India started “Operation Sindoor”. They fired missiles at civilian areas and sensitive places inside Pakistan. Innocent women, children, and elderly people lost their lives. Homes were destroyed. This was a clear attack on Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. India claimed they hit only “terrorist camps”, but the truth was different. Independent reports and Pakistani evidence showed strikes on populated areas in places like Bhimber, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and other parts of Azad Kashmir and Punjab. Pakistan stayed calm at first and gave a clear warning: any aggression would be met with a befitting reply.

Pakistan’s Brave Response

On the day of 10 May 2025, Pakistan responded to this aggression with utmost power and wisdom. The armed forces initiated a massive operation known as “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” which is a name derived from the Holy Quran meaning “a solid wall of lead” or an impenetrable structure. This name was a true reflection of our unity and power. Missiles of Pakistan, specifically the advanced Fatah-II series, drones, and jets of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) attacked the Indian military locations with utmost precision. These included the air bases of Pathankot and Udhampur and Brahmos missile depots. The PAF performed with unmatched professional competence. It has been reported that several Indian jets have been destroyed, while their mission was fully frustrated. Pakistan responded exclusively in self-defense mode with only military locations being bombed in India.

The Power of National Unity

What made Marka-e-Haq truly special was the complete unity of the whole Pakistani nation. From Karachi to Peshawar, from Lahore to Quetta, all Pakistanis were like rocks supporting their armed forces. People prayed specially in mosques, posters were made by students, and messages of love were sent by their families. The government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, fully supported the army. The Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, gave great courage and leadership. It wasn’t just a battle for Pakistani soldiers but a battle for all 240 million Pakistanis. Conventional media and social media platforms spread the true story and exposed Indian propaganda. This national solidarity became Pakistan’s biggest weapon.

Glorious Results and Logical Victory

Within a few days, Pakistan proved that courage, training, faith, and professionalism outweigh mere numbers. Despite the size of opposing forces, Pakistan’s armed forces responded with precision and strength to every act of aggression. Every inch of the country’s borders remained secure, while the Pakistan Navy stood fully prepared to defend national waters.

By 10 May 2025, a ceasefire was reached with the support of friendly nations, reflecting the effectiveness of Pakistan’s response. Pakistan’s message was clear: Pakistan cannot be pressured or intimidated. Independent sources acknowledged the impact and success of Pakistan’s operations. The sacrifices of the martyrs and the bravery of the war heroes became a lasting symbol of national pride and resilience.

A Day of National Pride

On 12th May 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared 10th May as Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq. Every year, schools, colleges, and other organizations will celebrate this great achievement. Students will learn about the courage of their forces. Patriotic songs will be sung. The green flag will be raised with more passion. This event is not meant to create hatred. It is to feel proud about their identity because of Allah Almighty and promise to remain united forever.

Several lessons were learned from the Marka-e-Haq episode. To start with, the unity of the nation is the most powerful asset of the nation. Second, the army is one of the most efficient and professional armies in the world. Thirdly, the truth will always beat the lies. After a year in 2026, the nation still feels equally proud about itself. The investors see it as a stable country. Its youth has become much more confident about itself. In any case, each citizen of Pakistan realizes that its sovereignty is safe as long as it stays united.

Marka-e-Haq is a living spirit residing in the hearts of each and every citizen of Pakistan. Once you struggle for your rights and freedoms bravely, you cannot lose your struggle. Marka-e-Haq is not just a historical term. It is a living spirit in each Pakistani heart. This spirit teaches us that whenever we raise our voice against oppressions with courage and faith, our enemies cannot overcome us. We pay homage to our shuhada with tears in our eyes.
