Crossbow-Wielding Radical Detained Indefinitely After 5G Tower Arson Campaign

POLICY WIRE — London, UK — A man who described himself as a ‘soldier of God’ has been ordered into indefinite detention following a three-week campaign of arson attacks aimed at 5G cellular infrastructure.
Milo Creese, a 40-year-old professional artist, appeared at the Old Bailey after firing a crossbow bolt through a resident’s window and assaulting two police officers in Surrey during his crime spree.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that Creese operated under an extreme worldview characterized by deep-seated hatred toward Muslims and a delusional conviction that various global atrocities were linked to 5G technology.
While Creese admitted to the actions, his legal defense centered on his mental state at the time the offenses were committed.
His barrister, James Gray, argued that his client believed he lived in a ‘lawless society’ and viewed himself as on a divine mission to ‘save the world’.
The court found Creese not guilty by reason of insanity for multiple charges, including arson with the intent to endanger life, property damage, possession of an offensive weapon, and two counts of assaulting emergency workers.
Medical testimony confirmed that Creese has a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder and is currently receiving treatment in a mental health facility.
Based on recommendations from two psychiatrists, Judge Richard Marks KC mandated that Creese be held without time limit under the Mental Health Act.
Prosecutor Lyndon Harris described the events as a calculated series of ‘very serious violence’ that threatened the broadband network and posed a high risk of fatalities.
One major incident occurred in the early morning hours of October 31, 2025, when Creese set fire to the 3 Rooms Indian Restaurant in Chertsey.
A passerby alerted authorities at 3:15am after noticing a smoking object protruding from the letterbox of the ground-floor establishment.
Although the restaurant is located directly beneath two residential flats, firefighters managed to stop the flames, which had caused significant damage to the front door, porch, and exterior signage.
Evidence at the scene included a charred cardboard container holding metal balls and small white spheres. CCTV footage reportedly showed a barefoot man placing the device and lighting it before fleeing on a bicycle.
On November 20, Creese allegedly targeted a telecommunications box at Spinney Hill, Addlestone. A witness reported seeing him run from a burning electrical tower while shouting that the structure was about to explode.
Authorities recovered a black rucksack at the site containing ball bearings, bacon rashers, and composted manure.
The following day, a security operator spotted Creese on camera lighting a bin inside a 5G mast compound and walking away with a crossbow in a bag.
Minutes later that morning, a resident named Hama Donsanj called police after hearing a loud noise and discovering a 15cm metal bolt had pierced her window into the hallway.
Police officers attempted to apprehend Creese at the scene, but during the struggle, he reportedly struck an officer with the crossbow rather than firing it.
Forensic analysis of Creese’s computer revealed radical right-wing ideologies and a desire for violence against Muslims. The prosecution argued the attacks were motivated by these terrorist beliefs.
Creese, who resides on Murray Road in Ottershaw, has a history of crystal meth use but had no prior criminal record. He declined to provide evidence during his police interviews.
