Stockport Man Accused of Druing Wife for Decades to Facilitate Stranger Abuse
A Manchester man admitted to druing and raping his wife for 20 years, inviting strangers online to sexually abuse her while she was unconscious.
POLICY WIRE — Manchester, UK — A man in his 60s has admitted to a two-decade campaign of drugging and raping his wife while facilitating sexual assaults by strangers he met online.
The Stockport resident appeared in court having pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including rape and the administration of substances intended to incapacitate his wife so others could commit acts against her.
To protect the identity of the victim, the husband remains unnamed and will testify as a witness in the ongoing trial of nine men accused of sexual offenses against her.
Prosecutors presenting at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court described the husband and the defendants as leading “double lives” to satisfy barbaric fantasies..
The husband testified that he began abusing his wife while she was asleep or unconscious from alcohol, later researching date rape drugs, GHB, and sleeping aids to understand how they interacted with alcohol.
He admitted to giving his wife mixtures of these drugs without her knowledge while filming and photographing the resulting abuse to share the media on the internet.
In one instance, an online contact sent the man a photo of comedian Bill Cosby with a caption noting that a woman cannot consent if she is unconscious.
The Crown asserts that starting around 2023, the husband began bringing various men into the home to abuse his wife while she lay unresponsive in their bed.
During that same period, he created an anonymous profile on the swinging site fabswingers.com, explicitly noting that his wife would be out of it..
Prosecutor Louise Oakley KC told the jury that the husband made no effort to hide the nature of the third parties he was communicating with, nor did he suggest the couple engaged in consensual roleplay.\
Oakey emphasized that the victim was clearly intoxicated and unconscious, noting the grim reality that many men harbor fantasies of abusing unresponsive women.\
The nine men currently in the dock are described as “contact offenders” who arrived at the residence expecting the woman to be wasted and unresponsive.\.
The prosecution argued that any reasonable person would have realized she was not conscious upon seeing her naked and snoring in the bedroom, yet they chose to proceed regardless.
The contact offenders identified include Philip Wild, Mohammed Sabir, Jordan Wallace, Alan Keelan, Richard Townsend, and Jonathan Kirk, who face the charges.
Two non-contact offenders, David Graves and Daniel Rayner, are accused of conspiring to administer the drugs behind screens after meeting the husband in a Telegram chat group.
Detectives recovered a mobile phone from the husband’s home containing over one million photos and videos documenting the abuse.
While the husband and several defendants plead not guilty, four other men—Keith Fotheringham, Karl Lindsay, Sean Peers, and Graham Brough—have already pleaded guilty to various offenses linked to the case.
