Cyber Attacks Hit UK Meat Processing, NCSC Reports Minimal Impact
UK meat processing firms report minor disruption after cyber attacks hit European supermarket fridges. NCSC confirms minimal national impact.
POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — A senior official at the National Cyber Security Centre confirmed that cyber attacks targeting supermarket freezers across Europe have also impacted the UK meat processing sector, although the national effect is minimal.
The incidents, which began Monday when hackers disabled fridges and freezers in stores across several European countries, prompted the NCSC to warn that the supply chain could experience disruptions.
Both the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers and affected processing firms have notified the NCSC, which is currently monitoring the situation and coordinating with businesses to mitigate any damage.
