Trump Grants Emergency Visa to Mother of Ghanaian Teen Killed in Bronx Shooting
President Donald Trump has approved an immediate travel visa for the mother of 15-year-old Javits Frimpong after the Ghanaian immigrant was killed in the Bronx.
POLICY WIRE — New York, USA — President Donald Trump has reached an agreement to provide a travel visa to the mother of a 15-year-old boy who was fatally killed in the Bronx.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced the decision on Saturday via social media, following direct communication with the President. The visa will allow the woman to travel from Ghana to New York City to grieve for her son.
The victim, Javits Frimpong, was a teenage immigrant from Ghana. He was shot and killed while he was walking to school.
While the investigation into the shooting remains active, no arrests have yet been made in connection with the crime. The boy’s father indicated that his son may have been experiencing bullying at school just days leading up to the tragic death.
Authorities in Ghana are currently working alongside United States investigators to address the matter.
