Chris Hansen Extends Open Invitation to Robert Pattinson for Face-to-Face Discussion on ‘Primetime’ Film
Television host Chris Hansen invites actor Robert Pattinson to his podcast to discuss the A24 thriller Primetime and his portrayal of the journalist.
POLICY WIRE — New York, USA — Television personality Chris Hansen has extended an open invitation to actor Robert Pattinson, requesting a sit-down conversation to discuss the star’s portrayal of him in the A24 thriller, Primetime.
The 67-year-old host, widely recognized for his work on the reality series To Catch a Predator, proposed the meeting during a recent episode of his podcast, Have a Seat with Chris Hansen. He suggested that a dialogue between the two would be a productive way to address the questions both men have faced regarding the film.
Hansen noted that he is aware of the 40-year-old actor’s demanding schedule, particularly as Pattinson is reportedly filming a Batman project in London. The host offered to travel to the United Kingdom to facilitate the interview, stating that the invitation remains open for whenever the actor is available.
The journalist has previously voiced strong criticism of the movie, characterizing it as a completely made up work of fiction. He expressed frustration that he was never consulted during the production process, describing the use of his name, image, and likeness as both sneaky and disingenuous.
According to Hansen, the film utilizes his brand for its commercial value to draw audiences into theaters. Despite his vocal opposition to the project, he maintained that he is not obsessed with the film, emphasizing that his primary focus remains his ongoing work with pedophile stings.
To Catch a Predator gained significant notoriety during its run, though it was cancelled in 2008 following the suicide of a 56-year-old assistant district attorney. The incident occurred shortly after a sting operation, with the show’s crew capturing the event on camera.
