Katie Zacharia Praises Trump as ‘Wonderful’ Following Five-Day White House Ouster
Katie Zacharia defends Donald Trump as kind after being fired as press secretary just five days into her tenure. Read the full report on her brief exit.
POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — Katie Zacharia has publicly lauded President Donald Trump as a kind and wonderful individual, despite being dismissed from her role as White House press secretary after only five days on the job.
In a post shared on X this past Friday, Zacharia described the president as a gracious, hardworking, and enthusiastic man. She expressed that it was an honor to serve him and suggested that more Americans should appreciate his efforts to make the country great.
The public tribute followed remarks made by the president on the White House lawn, where he suggested she should reconsider her position. U.S. officials subsequently confirmed that the 41-year-old had been fired.
Zacharia’s tenure was notably brief, lasting only five calendar days and falling short of the 11-day record set by Anthony Scaramucci during the first Trump administration. Her single press briefing was widely criticized, leading to questions regarding her professional capabilities.
The social media post drew significant attention, garnering over six million views and thousands of comments. Many users mocked the former press secretary for praising the president immediately after her termination, with some labeling the move as lacking self-respect.
Zacharia, a California native and Pepperdine Caruso School of Law graduate, was appointed by the 80-year-old president on October 9 to replace Karoline Leavitt. Her background includes roles as a DHS spokesperson, a commentator for Newsmax, and an advisor to Truth Social.
Her first and only press briefing lasted 14 minutes and was marked by a halting delivery and a verbal slip where she referred to her husband as my president. The performance was poorly received by both political opponents and internal White House staff.
During a Thursday appearance on Fox News, host Sean Hannity questioned Zacharia regarding her legal credentials and the quality of her briefing. Zacharia admitted she had not passed the bar exam but defended her performance, stating she did her best given the limited time she had to prepare.
Shortly before her departure, Zacharia insisted to The Wall Street Journal that no staffing changes were occurring. She was removed from her position less than an hour later.
