POLICY WIRE — Tokyo, Japan — Blackstone-backed data center operator AirTrunk has announced a $1 billion investment to expand its hyperscale data center campus in Inzai, Japan, with a focus on enabling AI workloads.
The expansion will include the deployment of liquid-cooling technology, which is essential for handling high-performance computing demands. The facility, which exceeds 300 megawatts in capacity, is expected to become the first in Japan to support large-scale AI operations, according to CEO Robin Khuda.
