POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — The BBC’s popular dance competition, Strictly Come Dancing, has launched its 2026 season with a revised schedule, including an earlier-than-usual Movie Week. Host Johannes Radebe has shared insights into the changes that have been made this year, highlighting the shift in structure and the benefits for contestants.
Radebe explained that moving Movie Week to an earlier stage ensures all celebrity participants have the chance to perform in at least one themed week before being eliminated. This marks a first for the show, according to the host, who expressed excitement about the creative possibilities for the professional dancers. Something that hasn’t happened in years so I know the professionals are going to eat it up, he said, referring to the fresh approach.
