RFK Jr. Shifts HHS Focus Toward 5G Conspiracy Theories
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the HHS are soliciting public input on 5G health risks, reviving debunked theories despite scientific consensus on safety.

This new inquiry seeks information from the American public concerning exposure to wireless radiation from a wide array of technologies. The list includes cellphones, Wi-Fi systems, smart meters, wearable devices, wireless medical equipment, and autonomous vehicles.

These theories emerged shortly after the nationwide rollout of 5G in December 2019, though similar concerns regarding cancer links were circulating as early as 2018.

Kennedy has long expressed skepticism regarding electromagnetic radiation. In a January interview with USA TODAY, he described the technology as a significant health concern, asserting that there are literally over 10,000 studies documenting adverse effects such as tumor growth, cancer, and the compromise of the blood-brain barrier.
However, the scientific community maintains that these claims lack merit. A 2024 review conducted by the World Health Organization, which analyzed 63 peer-reviewed academic studies, found no evidence to support health concerns related to cellphone usage.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an agency operating under the HHS umbrella, maintains that it does not have the science to link health problems to cell phone use. Despite this, HHS Press Secretary Grace Davis Jamison stated that the request for information fulfills a commitment made under the Make America Healthy Again strategy to investigate electromagnetic radiation.
The announcement coincides with Kennedy’s recent address to the Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine organization he founded that has actively campaigned against the installation of cell towers. During the event, Kennedy assured the group that they have a friend in the White House.
