POLICY WIRE — New York, USA — Target is set to open eight new stores across several U.S. states, including the Hamptons, Ohio, Mississippi, Texas, Virginia, and Tennessee, with an official launch date of October 11.
The company has also announced a major investment plan, including a $1 billion addition to its existing $5 billion allocation for new store construction and renovations. This follows the opening of Target’s 2,000th location in March in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, and six additional stores in May across Arizona, Missouri, New Jersey, and North Carolina.

In a separate move, Target is introducing a new line of employee uniforms called Collection186, inspired by the brand’s signature red color. Designed in collaboration with fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi, the collection includes T-shirts, polo shirts, cardigans, blazers, and vests. Gena Fox, senior vice president of design, emphasized that the uniforms were created with store team members in mind, offering both style and functionality.
