The findings come from a report released by the Fact-Finding Mission on Iran, which noted that U.S. airstrikes targeted two clearly identifiable civilian sites: a school in Minab and a sports complex and residential area in Lamerd. The report highlights the devastating toll of these strikes, with at least 157 people killed, including 123 children, at the Minab school on February 28.

The experts also accused the Iranian government of committing crimes against humanity by killing, imprisoning, and torturing protesters during the 2025-2026 demonstrations. These protests, initially driven by economic grievances, expanded across Iran’s provinces and cities, prompting a violent crackdown by security forces that included internet shutdowns, lethal force, and attacks on medical facilities.
