POLICY WIRE — Dallas, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys have added running back Tyler Goodson to their active roster after acquiring him from the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad.

Goodson, 25, was originally signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He later joined the Indianapolis Colts, where he played in 11 games during the 2024 season, recording 24 rushing yards and two receptions for eight yards. His primary role has been on special teams throughout his professional career.

The move comes as the Cowboys look to strengthen their backfield following a Week 1 loss to the New York Giants. In a corresponding action, the team waived running back Israel Abanikanda. Goodson had previously made an impression with the Falcons during the 2026 preseason, tallying 18 rushing attempts for 92 yards and one touchdown, along with four receptions for 40 yards.
