Election officials reported security challenges, including a shooting incident in Cotabato City that killed three people and injured 15 others. Additional incidents, such as an improvised bomb blast and gunfire, were also recorded. Despite these issues, the Commission on Elections Chairman Erwin Garcia stated that the security situation remained peaceful, with strict measures in place to prevent violence or vote-buying.
