POLICY WIRE — New York, United States — A mysterious buyer has acquired the former childhood home of Donald Trump for nearly $2 million following a significant renovation effort.
The property, located in the affluent Jamaica Estates neighborhood of Queens, was built in 1940 by Trump’s father, Fred Trump, and served as the president’s residence until he was four years old. The home had previously been left vacant and in disrepair for years before being purchased by developer Tommy Lin for $835,000 last year.

Lin invested an additional $500,000 to renovate the five-bedroom, three-bathroom house, adding modern features such as a chef’s kitchen, herringbone wood flooring, and spa-like bathrooms. The home has changed hands multiple times in recent years, with a previous sale in 2017 for $2.14 million. It was later listed on Airbnb with Trump-themed decor before being resold again in 2019 for $2.9 million, which remained unsold until Lin’s recent purchase.
