POLICY WIRE — Vancouver, Canada — FIFA President Gianni Infantino formally declared Thursday at the organization’s 76th annual Congress that he will seek re-election in March 2027, a move that could extend his leadership to 15 years.

The 56-year-old Swiss-Italian official assumed the presidency in 2016 following Sepp Blatter’s departure and won unopposed re-elections in both 2019 and 2023.
