POLICY WIRE — Montclair, California — Thieves executed a bold operation, stealing tens of thousands of cans of Pabst beer in two separate incidents from a Southern California warehouse, according to police reports.
The stolen goods, valued at $70,000, have prompted Pabst Blue Ribbon to launch a humorous social media campaign. Montclair police, however, are diligently investigating whether these thefts are connected.
In the first incident, approximately $45,000 worth of beer destined for Tucson, Arizona, was picked up but never delivered. An hour later, a fraudulent subcontracting company used fake documents to steal another $25,000 worth of beer. Both thefts took place on August 17 at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center located about 40 miles east of Los Angeles.
The stolen cargo included roughly 34,000 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon and non-alcoholic Old Milwaukee beer, totaling over 1,500 cases, as detailed in a police report obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

Pabst Blue Ribbon took to Instagram to highlight the weight of the stolen goods at 40,000 pounds and initiated a countdown urging for its return.
